HPP was built on the Tungnaa River, aproximately 130 km east of Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. The project was executed in long - lasting winter conditions, at extremely low temperatures. The so-called "winter concreting" technology, where the aggregate and water heating was required during the production of concrete, was applied for the execution of this particular project, including all other required operations.
